Yes. But there may be platform constraints at YPR. Another thing is YPR loves to keep trains on its platforms longer. (For example Chalukya halts for 2 hours). SMVB is odd place. Not at all convenient for commuting to city.
Chalukya reversal avoiding gives zero benefit for travellers crossing Bangalore. Instead of waiting at YPR platforms, the train will wait at some odd village side stations. Zero TT change done for Chalukya
Saw two city buses outside SMVB platform 1 side entrance when I was onboard TJ UBL special that reached SMVB at 0430 hrs.. not sure of the route number. Everyone went and boarded that.
