I think they do not need to give 4 rakes. If Devagiri is speeded up and leave CST little around 16:00 PM and it can reach SC station around 10:00 ish and the same rake could leave at 13:00 or 14:00 PM - in that case it will only be two CR rakes.

Devagiri should leave CST at 18:30 PM and can reach 10:30 AM and return can leave at 13:30 PM to reach CST at 05:10 AM (can go for PM for 06:00 to 18:00) - this would give enough time for PM at CR CST or the only option is extend Ajanta to CST and make Devagiri have RSA with Ajanta (Like Hussainsagar and CST HYD SF exp)

If they do that , SCR can still maintain it and it will be like - Devagiri leaving SC around afternoon can reach Mumbai at morning and then leave as Ajanta and arrive SC at morning (After maintanence leave as Devagiri around afternoon)

Another set of rake: That leaves as Ajanta SF from SC towards CST can reach CST at late afternoon and leave at Night as Devagiri and reach SC at Afternoon and go for PM to leave as Ajanta at night

Grand Trunk Express is truly the lifeline of Many Small towns lying on GT Route.
It provides a fast connection to the national capital Delhi and Chennai to many small stations lying on that route
No doubt it is somewhat slower than Prestigious Tamil Nadu Express but GT Is no less than TN Despite having more halts It is just 2hrs slower than TN Express betwee Chennai and New Delhi with 24 more halts.

a railfan brought up in small town in MP This train is more than anything for me I can recount numerous journey in this train from my town to Delhi and Bhopal
In my childhood I used to cry to watch this train in evening it used to came at 5 pm in evening.For me No train is bigger than it If you give me choice between Chennai and New Delhi I will truly prefer GT

GT express to TN express is like comparing and saying Charminar is better than HYD MAS SF express. Deep down we all know, GT is awesome and so is HYD MAS SF express. Some trains gets their prestigious status by name

GT is older than TN and is equally faster with stop (recently speeded up too)

This train should be made to run with LHB rake with RSA to Narayanadri SF express.

Train should leave TVC at 06:30 AM to arrive Lingampalli at 10:00 AM -- can leave as Narayanadri at evening at 17:00 PM to arrive at Tirupati around 05:00 AM and PM the whole day and the return train will leave TPTY around 18:00 PM to arrive Lingampalli at 06:00 AM to leave Lingampalli as Sabari express around 13:00 PM to arrive TVC at 16:30 PM with SC at TVC

I honestly prefer that . Even SCR confirmed and requested that SR would make this train SF with LHB and take PM at TVC

But TVC div told they are not interested in taking this train for PM. It should have been SF with the timing I mentioned way long back but its SR who did not agree to make it SF nor change its Zone.

I dont think Falaknuma should go to SER. Its good with SCR. SER spoiled MAS HWH mail already with bad coaches and lack of maintanence.

SCR Falaknuma with Simhapuri RSA looks good with SC maintanence. Common point maintanence is always good.

Southern Railway will never introduce any train themselves, They are lazy AF. TVC div and MAS div is good in giving up their train to other zone but wont be energetic enough to take.

Also "Rake transfer" or "running for 3 decades" has nothing to do with zone change. It is going to be prestigious no matter what. MAS SBC mail used to be SR train before they gave it to SWR bangalore. So shifting zone for decade ran trains always happens.

Okay speed up has nothing to do with stops - let me give you an example - Rayalseema used to be one of the slowest train from TPTY to HYD deccan once upon a time (SCR railfan should know) , yes they did cut some stops but most stops are still there. Now its one of the highly preferred SF from TPTY to NZM.

Its going to change to 06:30 AM time anyway - Netravati and Madsyagandha are going to have RSA and Netra's time is going to change around 07:00 AM or 07:30 AM from TVC - Not sure about the date when , so in the source it said Sabari is going to be advanced by 15 mins which will make it leave around 06:30 AM from TVC. So this plan that I gave is anyway going to happen cause of the RSA proposed.

Correct, I think the RSA is going to happen soon for Netra and Matsya and Sabari will be advanced anyway. They mentioned in article Sabari will be advanced by 15 mins, I assume if they do that it's better to make it SF and take PM and run as dedicated train or run as SCR train with Narayanadri RSA with speed up in timing.

We always do that. We take this and shift to MS GUV express. It such a good connection, it will be good if they start TCR GUV passenger at morning time around 05:30 AM (so TVC mail, Island, YPR KCVL GB people) could take the passenger instead of waiting too long.

Train is faster and cheaper compared to bus

Recently travelled from Pune to Trivandrum and Vice versa in 3AC.

Punchuality= Very Good. It was right time or before time on most of the stations. Lot of slack time given to this train.

It was Good. Little bit overpriced but taste was Good. U can depend on Pantry food on this train.But most of the times they were not selling RailNeer bottle from Pantry.

Cleanliness= Pathetic. This was the major minus point in this train. Cleanliness was pathetic. There is no Onboard Cleaning Staff. In AC coaches lots of cockroaches were roaming, Toilets were stinking, All the dustbins were overloaded they were not emptied in the whole journey. Due the this whole AC coach was stinking as the floor was dirty and it was not cleaned.
As in Pune it has only 1.3 hrs trurnaround time. Cleanliness is done secondary. But from Kanyakumari end Cleanliness was pathetic.

Conclusion= If u have other options then try to avoid this train.
