Yes, you are correct. 12261 CSTM - HWH booking is available only until 31st December. Interestingly, 12262 booking is available until 19th Jan.

Return train booking is available till 19th Jan (inside 4 months bracket), so I think it may be just a glitch with respect to 12261.

Yes, of course. It is supported by the fact that no premier train runs in this route (except weekly Humsafar) and hence this train is the highest priority train in this section.

The non-existence of premier train is the main reason, especially in the single line sections. If there were Rajdhani, Duronto and Shatabdi in that section then obviously this train wouldn't have got the free run in the single line section. In fact, when you say "Good controlling", it means this train is given free run by holding off other trains.

Great. Can anyone confirm if this train is allowed to run at higher speed than other trains? Since it's rake is fit to run at 120 kmph....

Nice. Patch double lines are bearing fruit I Believe. Anyway, I travelled a lot in that section in many trains including KSK, JanShatabdi, Badmer AC Exp, Rani Chennamma, Golgumbaz, Chalukya etc and I always felt train run with pretty good avg speed in that section.

I think cleaning and water filling will be done at Baiyyappanahalli. As far as the crew is concerned, I don't think it will be a problem. I agree with the inconvenience it will cause to passengers. For that, a halt at Baiyyappanahalli should be provided and metro trains should be run from 4:00 am itself. Hope many more trains are shifted once Baiyyappanahalli terminal is built.

Exactly, better to try out weekly/bi-weekly trains than disturbing daily trains. Yes, arrival didn't pose any challenge and may be it was departure time which made them shift the terminal.

All routes connected to Bengaluru will be electrified soon, which is not the case with Hubballi where many lines will still run diesel locos. Hence, KJM must be totally converted to ELS transferring all its D Locos to UBL.

If RB had rejected it, it was a different issue. I was in touch with insiders who said SWR didn't send the proposal itself. That's really bad. As far as lines are concerned, 3 of its busiest lines: SBC - GTL, SBC - JTJ and SBC - MYS are electrified now. Only 2 lines remaining are YPR - UBL and BYPL - SA which will take some time. Hope at least now they start asking for ELS.

Very well said. Karnataka has become synonymous with Bengaluru. Only other cities that get a little prominence are Hubli, Mysuru and Mangaluru. It is high time that other cities such as Bidar, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur are developed for distribution of work load.

Development side it's better. Gulbarga is the fastest growing city in Karnataka after Bengaluru. Even in railways, Gulbarga is the only A1 station in Karnataka apart from Bengaluru even without any significant originating trains. We can see some good work happening in Bidar and Raichur as well. I don't know much about Bijapur, Bellary or Koppal. Having said that, IIT which was supposed to come to Raichur was moved to Dharwad. Similarly, Gulbarga was a contender for Smart City tag but was given to Hubli-Dharwad. These things could have boosted the development in the Hyderabad - Karnataka Region. On the job front, it is not any different except for few hundred jobs that you mentioned and that's about it.

Very little work is left, hardly 10-12 km near Margutti tunnel. Bidar MP Mr. Khuba said work will be over by September. I think by Jan train will start between Bidar and Gulbarga. Anyway, politicians will make sure that train runs before elections to woo people.

BIDR Exp should run in the same path. It is a very good train for Sedam, Malkhed Road, Chittapur with a good number of seats. Also, Bidar needs a dedicated train. If it is diverted via Gulbarga, Bidar will lose a lot of seats to Gulbarga. One more thing is, it is not much profit to Gulbarga as well in terms of the schedule of the train, as SUR - YPR SF and BIDR - YPR EXP run one behind the other. Nanded Exp should be diverted via Gulbarga. With Nanded Exp, Gulbarga will get a train that leaves at late night from Bengaluru and also that arrives early morning at Bengaluru. Plus, it will reduce some end to end time as well. Hence it would be a win-win situation for all if Nanded Exp is diverted and not Bidar Exp.

Yes, SWR started this train with the condition that BIDR should be able to handle PM of this train in the future. I expect this to happen latest by next TT change.
