Six hours! I thought this was Amar Ujala being Amar Ujala, but this might not be too far fetched. Consider: at six fewer hours, this would cover the run in ten hours at an average speed of 140. At five fewer hours, it would be a comfortable 128, which I can actually see this making with the erstwhile stops of 09004, even with the "slow" section post Virar.

yes ... assuming a six hour reduction with the current MPS is more on a hypothetical side ! i think that they carried out 160 kmph test on Delhi-MTJ section only.. and train will run at usual 130 kmph top speed between MTJ-Virar ...!
full on 160 kmph MPS on Delhi - Mumbai stretch is a news for me.. if this will happen .. .then we will surely see more number of trains touching 160 kmph on this route and a Train 18 replacement of ADI Shatabdi next year ! :)
