Maharashtra aur CR /SCR ke saath bhi wahi haal hai. CR ne ZBTT mein bahut se intra-state trains band kar diye hain. Jab bhi Mumbai se kisi town tak kisi bhi intra-state train ko chalane ki demand hoti hai to CR sabhi sambhavnaatmak bahane deta hai jaise ki slots ki kami, platform ki uplabdhataa, Mumbai mein, aadi, lekin vah aasani se uttar ki or nayi trains ko chalu kar deta hai. CR ya to kuch savdhani purvak haftavaarik intra-state specials chalu kar deta hai jinaki odd timings hoti hai aur jinka patronage kam hota hai ya phir bas pravaasi trains ko extend kar deta hai. Maharashtra ke andar kuch kam special tyaohaar aur chhuttiyon ke samay chalti hain. Kuch special KR ke taraf ya Nagpur ki taraf chalti hain lekin Marathwada/Kolhapur/Solapur/Khandesh ya Vidarbha ke baaki kshetron tak koi special train nahi chalti hai. KR ke liye bhi kuch vishesh train ab Panvel se shuru hoti hain jisase Mumbai City aur Suburbs ke yatraago ke liye bahut hi anukool nahi hai. Lekin aap bahar ke towns tak ke specials ko Dadar/LTT se shuru ho rahe dekhege ya kabhi kabhi CSMT se bhi shuru hoti hai.

For Khandesh, they can run the Khandesh express 6 days a week, but the Minister of State for Railways is more interested in the 09051/52 train. Once, Western Railway even ran a special AC train from Bandra to Mangaluru, but now it looks like they don't want to run a special train to Konkan from Mumbai. Instead, they will run it from ADI, ST, or Vishwamitri to Konkan. Same goes for Western Railway trains from Bandra, they are given to the north first and then to Gujarat. Many special trains have become regular special trains, you know what I mean ;) Lots of excuses for not running trains in their own home state, but they introduce many trains to other states. That seems to be the policy of many railway zones now.
