1. In the beginning, a separate zone was the only solution. sufferings of Karnataka due to presence of 5 'serving' zones were listed, compared to TN & KL who have the benefit of a single zone.
2. subsequently arguments were that SR is anti poor and SWR/ Scr are pro poor by running long distance passenger trains. sf/ exp fares are un affordable to poor.
3. when it was proved wth facts and figures that more passenger trains are running in SR that too in more useful routes than in SWR, the...
more... goal post shifted to no passenger trains are there to chennai and TVC from other cities/ towns.
4.when it was pointed out that SR runs 27 daily trains to MAS/ MS for TN and more than 6 long distance daily trains to TVC within kerala, compared to one dozen trains for a geographically bigger Karnataka, all the arguments collapsed.
5. even a bus travel scenarios in TN/ KL vs KA were provided for comparsion for poor people.
6. comparing train services in tamilnadu and karnataka are like comparing palace with hut.
6. now, arguments turned other way, that all loss making passenger trains should be made as express! that too as done in SWR! unable to understand where are trains in SWR??
