*Repercussions on Mail/Express/Passenger Trains due to the infrastructure work*
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus presently has 18 platforms of which Platform no 8 to 18 cater exclusively for arrival / departure of mail/express and passenger trains.
After the arrival of any mail/express train on the platform and deboarding of passengers, the empty train is hauled by shunting engines to Wadi Bunder / Mazgaon yard for cleaning and maintenance to receiving / dispatch lines where they are further channeled and sent to different lines such as sick line, pit line, examination line, stabling line etc as per the need of the coach or train.
Presently three lines ( Receiving / Dispatch (RD) line no 1, 2 and 4) are connected for shunting the empty train to Wadi Bunder / Mazgaon yard. The ongoing infrastructure work on the CSMT-Wadi Bunder section is being carried out to provide connectivity of receiving / dispatch line no 3 (RD line no 3) with line no 7. This connectivity will improve mobility of shunting of mail express trains to yard and ensure better, efficient and safer train operations since after the block, there will be a total of 4 lines at the Wadi Bunder yard to receive / dispatch trains from CSMT instead of the current 3 lines.
Block has been undertaken for the above infrastructure work till 08.10.2023.

Yo, check it out! CR, which stands for Central Railway, has officially confirmed the roles of #Admin and #Moderator. They dropped a press release saying that there's gonna be a block on the CSMT-Wadi Bunder section. Basically, they're doing some infrastructure work to connect Receiving & Dispatch line no 3 with line no 7 on the CSMT-Wadi Bunder yard. This is gonna affect the Mail/Express/Passenger Trains, so heads up!
So here's the deal with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, they got 18 platforms. Platforms 8 to 18 are for the mail/express and passenger trains. After a train arrives and everyone gets off, it's taken to Wadi Bunder / Mazgaon yard for cleaning and maintenance on the receiving/dispatch lines. They sort 'em out and send 'em to different lines like sick line, pit line, examination line, stabling line, you name it.
Right now, there are 3 lines connected for shunting the empty trains. But with this infrastructure work, they're adding a connection between receiving/dispatch line no 3 and line no 7. This is gonna make the train operations smoother and safer 'cause they'll have a total of 4 lines instead of just 3.
The block for this work is gonna last till October 8, 2023. The details of how it's gonna affect the trains are as follows:

Now let's get into the rescheduling and short termination of trains. The CSMT-Howrah express is gonna be rescheduled, yo. And some other trains like Sawantwadi-Dadar Tutari express and Sainagar Shirdi-CSMT Vande Bharat express are gonna be short terminated at Panvel and Dadar.

On this day, they're straight-up cancelling the Pune-CSMT Indrayani express and CSMT-Pune Indrayani express. And there are more trains getting short terminated, like Sawantwadi-Dadar Tutari express and Sainagar Shirdi-CSMT Vande Bharat express.
There's also short origination of a couple of trains. Dadar-Sawantwadi Tutari express is gonna start from Panvel, and CSMT-Madgaon Janshatabdi express is also gonna start from Panvel.
Some trains will also be regulated, like the Hyderabad-CSMT Hussain sagar express and Hospete-CSMT express. Oh, and there's a train called Adilabad-CSMT Nandigram express too.
Lastly, there's a change in the schedule for the CSMT-Chennai Egmore express. It's gonna leave an hour later than planned.
