Agree
One thing is I feel SR is not pressurising trains through Shiradi Ghats..... Since the section is controlled by SWR... Both SR and SWR can coordinate. If introducing more trains is tough in that route atleast SR and SWR can together work out and extend Mangalore - Kabakaputtur/Subrahmanya Road Passenger trains to Hassan Jn. One in the morning, one in the afternoon and one in the evening in such a way MAQ people will get connection trains to interior Karnataka

Not SR Not SWR. Both together are responsible for neglect of Mangalore.
What are actions for scrapping HMRDA agreement? I think it is valid till 2032. This agreement spoils chances of any train in Shiradi ghats. Agreement entered by SR in early 2000s and continued by SWR even today.

SR neither runs any train from MAQ to Karnataka nor allows any train from Karnataka side to MAQ.
SR PGT feel that MAQ is meant for Kerala trains only. From MAQ, 4 daily trains to Chennai and 5 daily trains to TVC, but Zero trains for SBC.
No more dumping of kerala trains into MAQ.

The most utter crap thing is people comparing the silver line with vande bharath, one is a rail line and the other is a train.... From understanding things I believe if for silver line land acquisition is needed, then for any other alternative lines in Kerala will also require land acquisition. How long can we utilise the existing lines with full capacity..... In future the demand will increase and there will be pressure for new trains and when the only trunk lines in KL reach a Saturation.... New lines will have to be constructed....for that land will have to be taken....... VB for the time being might be a relief for people who cry for a VB in Kerala but not a permanent solution to the travel woes in Kerala. . . .. Ultimately new rail lines, a suburban rail network and faster intercity and long distance superfast trains both intra...
and inter state will only help in the betterment of the rail network in KL......

Yes agree. Just merely starting a route will not ensure occupancy. Whether people can afford, alternate lower options at similar journey time all play a part. Some recent examples are th 8 car coach for CBE-MAS sector even though it is a high passenger traffic route. They have opted for 8 cars to check feasibility first. Similarly it is quite a surprise that MAS-MYS still has got relatively low occupancy except on weekends....that is what the data says. In case of Kerala, If there is a significant diff in travel time between Jan Shatabdi and VB then probably people might prefer. In any case next 2 months being summer vacations and initial enthusiasm to explore might see people opting for it....after which will be monsoon and seasonal lull where actual occupancy can be gauged.

Agree In the initial months we can see youtubers who would want to improve their reaches by taking travel vlogs in VB and kids and people who want to experience the new train but after a few months this fascination will end and real occupancy can only be measured at that time

Re# 5693994-63
I think in the Andhra route at least the route have either 110kmph mps or 130kmph. I am not sure if there is any stretch with less than these mps where VB is running. I could be wrong here. In Kerala, TVC-Kollam is 100, Kollam-ERS/ERN is 90kmph. ERS-TCR is 80kmph. TCR-SRR is 80kmph and SRR-MAQ is 110kmph....This is wht I have heard. Hence I am not so sure whether introducing VB with such speed restrictions can be beneficial.

Trains like Vande Bharath should be promoted but after building proper infrastructure so that it can operate under optimum conditions. Apart from that considering the high fare it should be placed in areas where there is high demand for AC travellers like between metro cities mainly. When the nation is developing it should be reflected in its people..... With money only the purchasing power of people will improve and when purchasing power improves the demand for VB in other cities will improve. Thus the developmental activities will turn out to be positive for everyone. If not VB will remain useless for a large section of the society.
